The book The 5000 Year Leap: A Miracle That Changed the World was written by Willard Cleon Skousen.  Skousen (January 20, 1913 - January 9, 2006) was an American conservative author, political commentator, academic, and civil servant.  He was a prominent figure among American conservatives and authored several books on conservative thought.

Skousen graduated from San Bernardino Valley Jr. College in 1935.  Skousen went to work for the Agricultural Adjustment Administration in June 1935.  The following year he joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where he worked until 1951.

From 1951 to 1955, he taught at Brigham Young University, after which he served as the police chief of Salt Lake City, Utah until 1965.  For the next fifteen years, he edited the police journal, “Law and Order”.  He returned to Brigham Young University as a professor of religion in 1967, retiring in 1978.

Skousen spoke against the socialist-communist conspiracy, and against David Rockefeller.  Skousen claimed that treason had occurred in the U.S. State Department with respect to what he argued was the betrayal of China after World War II. In the 1970s, he gave a speech to an LDS group aboard a cruise ship returning from Israel.  In this excerpt, he speaks of the sham of elections in the United States.  He claimed that for ten elections, the United States had not had a legitimate election where there was truly a choice.  He also referred to what he argued was Chiang Kai-shek’s betrayal.

In his book, Skousen stated that for many years in the United States there had been a gradual drifting away from the Founding Fathers original success formula.  This has resulted in some of their most unique contributions for a free and prosperous society becoming lost or misunderstood.  Therefore, there has been a need to review the history and development of the making of America in order to recapture the brilliant precepts which made Americans the first free people in modern times.

Microfiber cloths are a quick way to clean a DVD. These are the same kind of cloths people use to clean eyeglasses, monitors, and laptop or LCD monitors. Rubbing Alcohol is also used to clean DVDs and just about every sensitive piece of technology out there because it doesn’t act like strong solvents do, and it evaporates quickly without leaving a residue. Usually a 1:1 mixture of 90%+ Isopropyl alcohol and water will do the trick. Simply dab a small, clean cotton cloth into the mixture and wipe in straight lines from the center of the DVD to the outside edge. To dry the DVD, just let it sit for a moment or two in a vertical position.
